Top off a dessert, “nice” cream, make chocolate milk, hot cocoa, the possibilities are endless. This recipe can be used along with the vegan caramel sauce to take your desserts to the next level. It is also used in the Banana Snicker Treats recipe. A much better option than the traditional chocolate syrup found on the shelf in the grocery store. Unlike the store bought syrups, this recipe uses whole food ingredients without all of the additives and preservatives.
Vegan Chocolate Syrup
Ingredients
- 1/2 c coconut sugar, or your sugar preference
- 1/4 c cocoa powder + 2 more tablespoons
- 1/4 c hot water + 2 more tablespoons
Instructions
- In a bowl or jar, mix together the sugar and cocoa powder.
- Slowly stir in hot water and whisk into a smooth syrup.
- Store in the refrigerator for approximately 2 weeks. Mixture will thicken in the refrigerator.
