Hi Friends! My name is Kelly and I am a whole food plant-based eater and Licensed Food for Life Instructor. I love sharing with others how I lost and have kept off over 50+ pounds and regained my confidence and health. In addition to being a whole food plant-based eater and Licensed Food for Life Instructor, I am a Christian, Wife, Mom, and Gigi. I can’t wait to share with you about this healthy lifestyle and how it can totally change your life like it changed mine. If I can do it, you can too!
Everyone has a story. What’s yours? Mine is that I come from a background of emotional eating. Emotional eating from stress, boredom, depression, anxiety and poor health habits. When diagnosed with several chronic conditions, I knew I had to make a change!
Growing up, my entire family constantly battled weight issues. We ate the Standard American Diet (SAD). Both of my parents suffered from many chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diverticulitis, dementia and more. What is sad about this situation is all those diseases were preventable. We simply didn’t know.
Fast forward to 2014 when I began battling some of those very same health issues myself. They say it takes a health crisis or tragedy to make a person change and I was beginning to experience my own health crisis. Diagnosed with IBS, high cholesterol, and borderline hypertension, I was given a prescription and told to stop eating the very foods that are the foundation of good nutrition. It simply didn’t sound right!
I had tried going vegan or plant-based twice before without success. The third time would prove to be different. Now armed with my own health crisis, a strong desire to make a change, an accountability partner (my sister), and access to many great leaders in the plant-based world, I was ready to go!
It took some work but I went cold “tofurky” and finally found success. Now that I am 50+ pounds lighter and full of energy, life is so much more enjoyable. My cholesterol is in check and normally my numbers for blood pressure usually run around 110/70. No pills for me and no more yo-yo dieting! I love sharing this news with others and now spend countless hours chasing and playing with my grandkids. Life is a journey and we should all enjoy it to its full potential!
I am not saying it doesn’t come with challenges, but with the right processes in place you too can improve your life with proper nutrition. To undo the belief that chronic disease is part of the “normal” aging process. IT SIMPLY IS NOT! My mission is to help and educate others on how to follow a vegan and plant-based lifestyle for weight loss and improved health. I promote a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and education.
My vision begins with a healthier, happier world! Through a plant forward diet, weight issues and disease could be minimized significantly. Whole food plant-based eating is not only better for people, but better for our planet and the animals too! Let’s make a better world together!
