This Queso Vegan Cheese Sauce is my go-to sauce for all things cheesy. It is super quick and easy to prepare. Among other dishes, it can be used for enchiladas, nachos, burritos, tostados, beans & rice, and french fries or potatoes.

- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp flour or corn starch
- 1 c cashew milk
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- dash or garlic salt, to taste - this is an important component
- dash or cayenne pepper for spice
Add the water to saucepan and stir in the flour. Mix well over medium heat.
Once combined, add the cashew milk, nutritional yeast, garlic salt and cayenne pepper.
Cook over low to medium heat, stirring constantly until desired thickness or consistency.
Taste and adjust spices. The garlic salt and cayenne pepper give it a nice flavor.
Sauce can be used immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
The sauce will thicken more as it cools in the refrigerator.
