Brownie Batter Hummus

This Brownie Batter Hummus recipe by PCRM is sure to satisfy any chocolate craving. It is surprising delicious. It works great as an appetizer with your favorite fruit or pretzels. It is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters!

Equipment

  • 1 blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1 15 oz chickpeas, low sodium, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 c soy or almond milk, unsweetened
  • 1/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 tea vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tea iodized salt
  • 1/4 c vegan chocolate chips, optional

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor, combine chickpeas, nondairy milk, cocoa powder, agave nectar or maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. 
  • Process until smooth. Add more milk as needed for desired consistency.
  • Transfer hummus to a serving bowl. If using, stir in chocolate chips. Optional: Melt chocolate chips and drizzle on top.
  • Serve dip with fruit or pretzels.
